students holding Pete the Cat Books

Students in the Teaching Professions class at HCTC recently attended the Missouri’s Conference on the Young Years held at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach. This event brought together educators and professionals in the field of early childhood education to share knowledge and strategies for teaching young children.

The students were accompanied by their teacher, Mrs. Hoskins, who organized the trip to provide her students with the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and gain valuable insight into the world of early childhood education. The conference included keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities with educators. They also had the opportunity to hear a keynote from Eric Litwin the author of Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes and many other books. They were able to meet with the author, and get their favorite  Pete the Cat  books signed as well!

The High School Teaching Professions class is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in education. The course covers a wide range of topics, including teaching methods, classroom management, and educational psychology. The course prepares students for entry-level positions in education or for further studies in the field.

Attending the Missouri’s Conference on the Young Years was a valuable experience for the students in the Teaching Professions class, as it provided them with a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the field, broaden their understanding of early childhood education and to gain practical skills that will help them succeed in their future careers.

The theme of the conference was,  Celebrating 50 Years- Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present, Embracing the Future.
